And a question almost immediately arises in the mind of a potential conscript: “Does the deferment from the army extend to me?” Yes, the law allows a young man to “repay a debt to his homeland” not immediately, but after a certain time, so that he can settle matters in civilian life. So, let us examine in detail the question of to whom and in what cases a deferment from the army is laid.
Grounds
There are several reasons, the presence of which gives the right to postpone service in the Armed Forces. Of course, many people want to know about what deferments from the army exist in principle.
Studying, family circumstances, health status, work in state bodies and budget organizations - all these are legitimate reasons to postpone the service.
Study
Today, a deferment from the army to study is provided for all students of educational institutions. The main thing here is to consider two factors: the institution should have state accreditation, and the form of training should be full-time. We emphasize that at present, almost all educational institutions provide a deferment from the army: a college and a technical school are no exception in this regard. However, some experts are concerned about the question: “But will this state of affairs lead to a shortage in the army?” It is possible that all this creates the prerequisites for the transition to contract service.
Starting this year, a deferment from the army, regardless of their age, applies to absolutely all students. Previously, it was provided only to those young people who were under the age of twenty.
Also, graduate students, "pundits" who intend to defend their dissertation, as well as candidates of sciences, will not temporarily fall into the army. However, it should be borne in mind that the postponement of the army to study is a one-time action, and if you intend to get a second higher education after graduation, you must first "pay the debt to the homeland."
Family circumstances
If at the time of conscription for military service you are a father with many children, raise children alone or you have minor sisters, brothers, disabled relatives in your care, then you can also wait for your arrival at the conscription center. However, there are some reservations. A young person receives a privilege only if there is no one else in his family to care for minor children and disabled relatives. Also, all the above circumstances should be confirmed by documents.
For example, a person is relied on for family reasons to defer from the army. In this case, children must have birth certificates stating that the potential conscript is indeed their biological father. If we are talking about a disabled relative, the young man must provide a certificate of his disability.
For work
Persons who, after graduation, go to work in law enforcement agencies, customs, fire departments, as well as institutions that are part of the penal system, also receive a deferment from service in the Armed Forces. However, the police, firefighters and other above categories will have to prove their professionalism with a specialized diploma, otherwise they will have direct access to the army.It should also be borne in mind that the privilege for them applies only to the period of their work in the listed structures.

Health deferment is a fairly common reason. Today’s representatives of the young generation who want to “bend” from the service, use it precisely. It all depends on what degree of severity of health problems the commission of the draftee will determine. Category "G" means that the young man is temporarily unfit for military service. Deferral in this case can last from six months to one year. Category “D” is assigned to those who cannot serve in the army in peacetime. However, in the latter case, young people have the right to work in law enforcement agencies.
The list of diseases in which they give a delay
Since last year, a new document has begun to govern the issues of military medical expertise.
To a certain extent, the list of diseases has changed, the presence of which affects the suitability of the young man for service. At the moment, there are over two thousand of these pathologies.
It should be noted that, compared with the 2013 figures, the list of ailments that provide benefits to potential recruits has been significantly reduced. So what are these diseases? A deferment from the army is provided if a young man suffers from high blood pressure (stage 2, grade 1-2), which should be confirmed by the results of daily monitoring, dystrophy or overweight (exemption for one call), orthopedic ailments and pathologies of the spine (kyphosis , osteochondrosis), various kinds of fleeting health disorders (injuries, fractures, viral infections). Of course, this list is not exhaustive.
Public service
In addition to law enforcement officers, deferment from the army applies to those who work in the public administration system.
So if a young man is lucky enough to become a deputy or mayor, then this is a “reinforced concrete” basis for postponing military duty.
Can I rely on a delay
In certain cases, yes. As a rule, a second postponement is provided for studies: in particular, we are talking about those who previously had the privilege in order to obtain a certificate, graduate from high school and intend to enter graduate school. Graduate students, seminarians and potential recruits of category “G” have the right to take advantage of reprieve many times.

Relatively recently, amendments to the normative legal act, which regulates the procedure for conscription, have entered. We emphasize once again that now lyceum students and students of other vocational education centers can apply for deferment from the army, and it extends until their graduates are issued a certificate. In the past, young people who were under twenty could count on such a benefit.
Another important innovation is that military commissars are not entitled to send a conscript to the conscript until he passes the final exams and defends his diploma. A few years earlier, young people were required to come to the recruiting station, regardless of whether they passed the exams or not.

Young people who are serving their sentences in places not so distant or located in pre-trial detention centers have been completely and temporarily released from military duty. Alternative service
For many years now, there has been a debate in Russian society about the feasibility of introducing alternative services instead of urgent ones. It would seem that serving and receiving money for this is a better option than general conscription. However, recruits should not be too deceived about this, as not everyone is given the right to choose. Fixed-term service can be replaced by alternative if, for example, the religion of a potential recruit does not comply with the principles of military service, and if he is a representative of an indigenous people engaged in traditional crafts or original farming.

Today, one can often find announcements of the following content: "I will help solve the problem of deferment from the army." Moreover, the cost of such a service is astronomically high. In no case do not resort to this method of solving the problem. You will not only not solve it, but will remain without your savings. In other words, there are no guarantees that you will be delayed in performing military service. Believe me, if there are legitimate reasons for this, the draftee will wait with the service in any case.
