Funeral allowance: documents, size, registration procedure

Burial is a ritual action that is aimed at the burial of a person’s body or remains after his death. The burial is carried out in accordance with prevailing customs and traditions that do not contradict sanitary and other requirements. The social services sector is developing quite dynamically, and the Federal Law “On Burial and Funeral Business” is a confirmation of this.

The funeral allowance is issued based on the above law. The purpose of this law is to regulate the work of funeral services, as well as the issuance of material assistance for burial.

The law enshrines the rules that determine the list of burial services (taking into account the wishes and wishes of relatives), the basic guarantees for the provision of material assistance, environmental and sanitary requirements that must be observed in the burial places.

The burial allowance for a deceased person who was previously officially employed can be obtained from the accounting department of the last place of work. Parents go there in case of death of a minor child. If the deceased was not employed, but was retired, a statement should be filed with Pension Fund, who previously accrued payments.

Material aid the burial of the deceased, who during their lifetime were unemployed and did not receive pensions, is carried out by the social protection authority. In the same place, money is issued for a stillborn child (if 196 days have passed since pregnancy).

A close relative, spouse, legal representative or other person who has taken responsibility for the burial of the deceased is provided with a guarantee for the provision of gratuitous services (in this case there is no need to receive a burial allowance):

  1. Documents required for burial.

  3. Transportation of the remains or body to the cemetery (crematorium).
  4. Cremation or burial.

The cost of services that are provided according to the established list is determined by employees of the executive authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, in direct agreement with the branches of the PF and the Insurance Fund.

Social assistance is provided:

In 2015, the maximum amount of assistance issued for burial is 5,227 rubles.

To apply for benefits for a pensioner, a person who has undertaken to organize a funeral must contact the social services department. protection and file an application with the specified passport data of the deceased.

The burial payment is issued in an amount that does not exceed the list of established services. Also, the amount of assistance rendered cannot exceed ten times the value of officially fixed wages. The amount of the burial allowance is determined on the basis of the minimum wage, which exists on the day of applying for help.

The issuance of funds for the funeral of pensioners of this category is carried out in accordance with section 3 of the guidelines. If funeral services were performed at the state’s expense, then the pensioner’s burial allowance will not be paid.

In the event of the death of a certain category of UIS pensioners, as well as members of their families, the amount of material assistance provided cannot be lower than 2000 rubles. This category of pensioners includes deceased due to:

  • radiation accidents;
  • nuclear weapons tests;
  • work with radioactive substances or nuclear installations.

This group also includes pensioners who have received a disability group due to the above circumstances.

The lost pension due to the pensioner on the month of his death is paid to the person responsible for the funeral, the legal representative or the relatives of the deceased. The pension is payable in full for the whole month, regardless of the date of death.

In concluding, it should be noted that, in addition to providing a plot of land for burial, the state guarantees the relatives of the deceased or other persons who have carried out the funeral, the receipt of burial benefits in the form of cash. As an alternative, the state assumes the responsibility of providing a certain list of funeral services.
