VET is the commonly used abbreviation, which means production and technical department. It is part of the structure of construction companies, installation, energy and industrial enterprises, and is also represented in organizations for housing and communal purposes.

- performs technical supervision of how construction and installation work proceeds on the site, facilities;
- checks the scope of work and compliance with the drawings and design estimates that are approved and accepted for work;
- inspects compliance with building codes (SNIP), labor protection requirements and standards, approved standards and technical conditions (TU);
- checks the estimates, accounting and calculation of the cost of construction and installation works, including the required additional work or services;
- draws up schedules and production plans, makes adjustments there;
- checks the estimates, costing and contracts received from contractors and customers;
- takes part in the technical acceptance of construction or installation works performed at the facility, checks compliance with the estimate, design, interim solutions;
- draws up technical documentation after completion of work and acceptance of completed facilities;
- responsible for reporting at the end of work at the facility, consistent with construction plans.
