When regiments, battalions and military training centers, the army command provides for the presence of special territories - parks, which are used to store military weapons and their maintenance. Military equipment belonging to a particular training center not only represents material value for attackers. It is also an important target for sabotage attacks. In order to protect military property from theft and terrorist acts, parks are fenced and guarded.

Territories for the storage of military equipment and weapons - parks - can be permanent and field.

Training centers and shelves with a permanent location are equipped with permanent parks. These territories are characterized by the presence of quality barriers, capital buildings and other structures. Armament is placed in special storage facilities, which are closed parking. On the territory of permanent parks there are also open storage facilities. These are awnings and platforms for military equipment.

Field parks are considered temporary and are built in the field for the period of training activities and maneuvers.

How are permanent parks arranged?

To improve the conditions of storage and repair of military equipment and weapons, the territory calculated for equipping a permanent park is divided into three zones:

  • N1. It is intended for storage of army weapons and equipment, which belong to the group of combat and combat use.
  • N2. Represents the territory on which the repair of all available in the location of the regiment of the army equipment.
  • N3. It is used as a place for storing weapons and equipment belonging to the group of educational and combat training use.

These zones are divided into sections, each of which has a separate unit. To indicate the boundaries between areas in permanent parks, special signs are used.

Such a structure of the territory is necessary to ensure the protection and defense of a training center or regiment, as well as to conduct, in case of urgent need (on alarm), the rapid exit of combat vehicles and army units assigned to them.

Who guards the park?

Ensuring the safety of weapons is carried out by the duty officer in the park. In the regiments, officers are appointed to this temporary position. This task can be performed by warrant officers. In separate battalions, sergeants are also assigned on duty.

At the appointed time, the deputy commander of the regiment for armaments carries out the necessary instructions with the ensign or sergeant. After the formalities are settled, the person who enters the guard along with the shift duty officer must go around the park territory. During the inspection, the state of military equipment and the equipment for receiving signals from the duty officer are checked.

  • Fencing of the territory. The attendant should carefully inspect the gates, gates and doors.

  • The park attendant monitors how subordinates perform their duties and reports to the deputy regiment commander for armaments.
  • Army parks, both permanent and field, are subject to 24-hour security. Responsibility is assigned to the daily outfit in the park. The duties of the members of the daily dress are established by the regiment commander and are indicated in the Charter of the garrison and guard services of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in articles No. 381, 383, 384, 387 - 390.

What is the duty officer responsible for?

  • The serviceman must be in the place reserved for him. If necessary, leave instead of himself, he must leave the orderly. In this case, the necessary notes should be made in the barn book (when he left the post, when he joined).
  • The duty officer checks the pass and other identification documents of all persons who arrive at the park. In the event that the pass to the park is one-time, the guard makes appropriate notes on it (indicates the time of arrival and departure). Checking the pass eliminates the presence of unauthorized persons in the park. After the guard is surrendered, all one-time passes are handed over to the technical unit of the regiment.
  • The duties of the duty officer in the park include the protection of military property. Having stepped in for a shift, the guard makes sure that nothing is exported or imported from the park. The movement of military equipment and weapons is possible only if it is indicated on the waybill.
  • The duty officer is responsible for ensuring the security of military service: he controls the implementation of all repair activities in the park. To do this, he must know what work this or that unit should do. When transporting army equipment, the guard must comply with the charter. The park attendant, in accordance with Article No. 387, has the right to authorize the entry and exit of vehicles from the territory entrusted to him, subject to the availability of relevant documents. For cars and trucks, such a document is a waybill. In the entry-exit book, the attendants make notes: the time is indicated when the car left the location of the park, when it returned and the readings taken from the speedometer. If the transport is delayed, the duty officer is obliged to report this to the deputy regiment commander for armaments.

Transport is released from the park if:

  • Automotive equipment is controlled by the driver assigned to it - a mechanic who is admitted to the flight (underwent a pre-trip medical examination). All the necessary information for the park attendant is contained in the documentation: driver’s license and waybill.
  • There is an outfit issued the day before from the regiment commander. In the absence of an outfit, the park duty officer may release vehicles if the commander has written permission.
  • Automotive equipment can be released outside the park in an emergency.

On holidays and weekends, the exit of vehicles from the park is limited.

Maintaining internal order

This duty of the park duty officer is to perform the following tasks:

  • Compliance with cleanliness and order in the park and on the premises.
  • Maintaining the established temperature regime in the premises of those structures located in the park: monitors the operation of heating furnaces. This work is carried out in the winter.
  • Monitoring the discharge of water from engine cooling systems.
  • Checking the status of technical equipment: signal receiving equipment, communication equipment, fire and security alarms. The park attendant keeps the tractors ready. After completion of all repair work, the light in the rooms should be turned off. Only emergency lighting is used. In the outside of the park, the light should remain lit.

Emergencies can be natural and man-made. If an alarm is announced due to a fire, the duty officer must:

  • Urgently call the fire brigade and, prior to its arrival, take measures aimed at extinguishing the fire and evacuating army equipment, weapons and all the regiment or training center entrusted with its protection.
  • To inform about the emergency situation of the duty officer on the regiment, the commander of the regiment and his deputy - deputy commander for armaments.
