The reason for this is intelligence, which allows you to create more powerful tools than claws and teeth. It's about hunting weapons.
Bit of theory
Hunting rifles have been used relatively recently. It began around the 80s. Twentieth century. Previously, such weapons were used exclusively for professional and military purposes. Initially, it was produced as copies of the famous Kalashnikov assault rifle or SKS, but later more aesthetic models of rifles, especially imported ones, appeared.
This type of weapon highly specialized. It is intended for hunting large and medium-sized animals (fur and ungulates), up to wild boars and bears, as well as large game birds. Shooting from it is carried out only by bullets, its range is 300 meters or more.
The difference between a hunting rifled weapon and a smooth-bore weapon is that there are screw-shaped rifles in the channel of its trunk. They are made to give the pool a rotational motion when fired. The ultimate goal is to achieve stability of the trajectory, range of the bullet and accuracy of fire.
Rifled weapons in the hands of a hunter in comparison with a smoothbore has a higher degree of accuracy, power and range. To shoot from this weapon, the hunter needs to aim more carefully.
What does it happen?
There are two types of rifles for hunters in Russia:
- Self-loading or semi-automatic. Complete with it - a stationary or removable magazine for 5-10 rounds, with automatic reloading of the cartridge.
- Not self-loading (the next shot is possible only by jerking the shutter manually). This design, compared to dirt-fearing automation, is considered somewhat more reliable, but less rapid-fire. So decide for yourself what is more important for you on the hunt, for example, if there is a battle with a large beast.
Both types of shutter are multi-shot. In another way, they are called carbines, which have almost replaced the outdated type of fittings - rifled rifles (single-barrel or double-barreled), arranged as smooth-bore, that is, with the need to break barrels for charging. But such weapons still have fans because of the high reliability and the possibility of using large-caliber cartridges.
Another type of weapon
There are also combined guns. The peculiarity of their design is that in it threaded trunks and smooth are adjacent. These shotguns are universal and suitable for any hunt, but have considerable weight, which makes serious demands on the stamina and physical preparation of the hunter.
This weapon is also a three-barrel, which is very convenient for traders. Four-barreled structures are also found. They are arranged like this: two horizontally located smooth trunks from below are equipped with a standard rifled barrel having the main caliber - for a large beast. On top is a small-caliber trunk for medium-sized production.
Today, a huge number of weapons stores have opened and are operating in Russia. All of them are literally overflowing with any of its existing varieties. But, as you know, for their possession they need permission to rifle firearms.Let's touch on this topic in more detail.
What do you need to know to receive it?
Firstly, permission for rifled weapons is obtained exclusively at the place of registration (permanent registration). The option with temporary registration will not work.
Secondly, you can get a license and permission for absolutely any weapon only if you have no criminal record or it has been canceled. In the latter case, you will be required to present a certificate of this along with a copy of the sentence.
Thirdly, you can get permission for rifled weapons no earlier than after a five-year tenure of possession of hunting smooth-bore weapons.

Rifle permit - documents
Now consider what kind of papers you need to stock up, going for permission.
First of all, this is a photocopy of your passport, more precisely, its first page and the one where the place of registration is indicated. What do you need to get permission for rifled hunting weapons? Let's talk about the procedure for this receipt in more detail. The weapon, as you know, is the most important thing for a hunter. But in order to be able to go to the store and buy it, it is necessary to have a license (i.e. permission to purchase rifled weapons) issued to the police department for a period of five years. It is for her that they will sell it to you in the store. And after the purchase, there will be a procedure for replacing the license for a rifle permit. So where do you start?
We pass the exam
A mandatory exam for knowledge of the rules for handling weapons (its wearing, storage and use) each future owner will have to pass before they bring the assembled package of documents to the police department for a license. It consists of theoretical and practical parts. The latter includes testing your weapon handling and shooting skills.
It should be noted that those who fail to pass the first part to the second are not automatically allowed. Knowledge of the theory is checked in writing, the exam lasts 60 minutes.It counts as accepted if you have given at least eight correct answers out of ten.
The results are reported to the examiner verbally immediately after checking his answers or they send an extract from the examination protocol.
Practical part
It is also carried out in two stages. On the first one, they test your skills - how you can handle weapons (which are not yet loaded). The second is practice (shooting at targets).
Practical shooting is carried out in front of the examination committee in the shooting range or at the shooting range. If the examiner demonstrates uncertain handling of the weapon or admits violations of safety precautions, the exam for him immediately ends with an unsatisfactory mark.
The same situation is in the second stage. Errors were made in practical shooting or a dangerous situation arose on the line of fire due to inept handling of weapons - the shooting is over, the exam is not passed.
If the result is negative, retake is possible no earlier than 5 days later. If the practical shooting results are unsatisfactory, the test is allowed to be repeated within a month after the theory is passed. If, in the indicated period of time, “shooting back” did not succeed, the theory will have to be retaken again.
What else do you need to know?
It is necessary to study the Criminal Code, specifically its 37th article (on necessary self-defense), as well as a government decree of 1998 on the circulation of weapons and ammunition.
Another mandatory item is first aid measures in case of injury, fracture, burn, bleeding. All this knowledge you will need when passing the exam in the police (specifically - you have to visit the licensing department). It is conducted as a test of ten questions, two of which are on a medical topic. Only one error is possible.
Obtaining permission for rifled weapons
In addition to the certificate of exams, you bring the conclusion of the therapist in the official form No. 046-1, it will require certificates from an ophthalmologist, narcologist and psychotherapist. Possible problems
Theoretically, issuing permits for rifles may be accompanied by a number of illegal requirements for you, for example, such:
- Pass a safety knowledge test regarding the handling of weapons. If you are a member of the Hunter Society, your ticket already contains a mark on passing such a test.
- Undergo fingerprint examination.
- Present a characteristic from the place of work.
Licenses may be refused due to unpaid traffic fines. The refusal is legally legal if you are attracted for non-payment (administrative arrest, double fine).
What to do after purchase?
Having acquired a weapon, you must go through the procedure for exchanging a license for permission. To do this, within 14 days from the date of purchase, you must visit the police department. The exchange process lasts about 10 days, during which time manage to equip a safe in your home in which you will store the acquired weapons.
The requirements for it may vary slightly (it is best to coordinate this moment with the district), but there are a number of basic ones:
• the metal of the safe must be at least 2 mm thick;
• the storage location must be equipped with two locks;
• the safe is fixed permanently to the wall and floor;
• its location is not visible.
Having equipped the safe, arrange with the district police officer on the date and time of his visit. He must familiarize himself with the conditions in which the weapons are to be stored.
With a permit for rifled weapons, you can go to buy gunpowder or other ammunition. Please note that you can only buy equipped cartridges of the caliber that your registered gun has.
